Andalo is located on a wide grassy saddle at the center of Brenta - Paganella plateau. Its dominated from Piz Galin to the West (2,442 m) and from Paganella to the East (2,125 m). Its territory falls partly in the protected Adamello/Brenta Natural Park.
The center has medieval origin, once was characterized by the breakdown in thirteen farms (Bortolon, Cadin, Casa Nova, Clamer, Dos, Fovo, Ghezzi, Melchiori, Monec, Pegorar, Perli, Ponte and Toscana). At today this feature is in part identifiable, although the farms have reunited almost entirely due to the substantial urban development of this area (excluding Pegorar farm that remains at today still visibly detached from the rest of the village, in a panoramic position).
Since the mid-twentieth century, the country has known a remarkable tourism development, quickly becoming a resort of primary importance. During the winter season Paganella ski-lifts and numerous recreational facilities make it one of the busiest places in Trentino. THE SPORTS CENTER, ANDALO BUTTONHOLE The Sports Center, located near the village center, is situated on a plateau of over 100,000 sqm and it covers an area of exceptionally versatile offering for the guest of this resort. Here the tourist in Andalo can find the answer for every needs, whether sports or simple relaxation.
There are a lot of accessible sports facilities: regular football field with running track, indoor climbing, soccer and basketball, volleyball, miniature golf, two indoor pools - one with 8 lanes and the other recreational with slide - water games, whirlpool, suitable for both adults and children, ice rink, 6 tennis courts and 2 bowling greens. Also game room and horse riding with the possibility of horse-riding tours or to make merry with the horse-drawn carriages. SPORTS FACILITIES The multifunctional Sports Center offers a variety of sports and recreational facilities, for both summer and winter season. Facilities include: 2 bowls field, 1 soccer field 105x65 m with athletics ring and stands, 1 mini-soccer field in greenset, mountain horse riding, 1 minigolf with 18 holes, 1 articifial gym climbing, 1 volleyball, 1 basketball court, 6 tennis courts, 1 archery range, fitness trail with 15 tools, children's playground, ring-country skiing of 4 km. With its open both in summer and winter, the Ice Stadium - artificial refrigeration plant covered with all logistic services - completes in harmonious way the many opportunities that Sports Center offers. Immersed in the green of the Sports Center, the Meetings Center was designed and built for multiple uses with a large hall of 1,300 sqm. It offers the possibility to organize meetings, musical events, parties associations and if necessary it can be transformed into a huge hall for gala lunch or dinners up to 900 guests. With its multi-purpose, it integrates perfectly events and conferences in an environment that offers opportunities for recreation and fun.
